When you think of SEO, what do you think about? Are you thinking about the way your site looks or are you looking at the way the text looks and the words on the screen. Are you typing in all those key words? There is so much to learn about SEO that it becomes a very difficult challenge to know exactly what you wan to do with your site to optimize it. I know when I start optimizing my site, I am always looking for more links.
The most important thing is that you constantly have links pointing to your site. You have to make sure that you can continuiously create links to your site, So how do you get those bad boys? This is a question that gets asked again and again. I feel like a broken record, constantly repeating the same things over and over again.
I want to go back and talk about all the strategies that I use and then I want to talk about a new strategy that I just came up with but have not tested yet. I will test my new idea as soon as I can though.
There are the usual methods of building links like submitting your articles to article directories with a link to your site in the signature. This is a good strategy for people that can write well with the ability to grab the attention of other webmasters so that they can use them in there websites.
There is forum posting. This is when you go to a forum and comment and add quality content to the forum with a link in your signature file again. This allows you to become an expert in the field, thus causing people to go through the link in your signature as well as providing a link back to your site.
There are many more, but those will be for another time. Now we have more important tactics to talk about. I was thinking of ways to get links to my sites and I decided I wanted 10 methods. I only got 8 and got stumped for good ideas. I had to act fast or I would waste a lot of time.
Then, I thought of how people beg for links from webmasters and I decided that that would not work because webmasters with quality sites hate that. I decided that if I could offer them something, maybe they would accept the link on there site. If I could offer them a service of some kind of a gift, perhaps they would add a link on there page.
If there site is much better then yours, maybe pr 3-5 (this is much better then 0 ), you should offer to write articles for them in exchange for a link trade. They trade links with you and they get articles to even out the difference in page rank.
I know, that is a great strategy, so go out and try it for yourself. If you cant write, find something else you could do for them. Become a web slave so that you can get that link. Whatever you can do, will help. |
